Patna, Bihar: Bihar’s karate contingent delivered an outstanding performance at the 10th International Karate Championship Indian Challenger Cup 2026, bringing pride to the state by securing an impressive 33 medals at the prestigious international event held in Kolkata.
The three-day championship, organized from July 31 to August 2, 2026, took place at the iconic Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata. The tournament witnessed participation from 10 countries, making it one of the most competitive karate events of the year. Representing Bihar, a contingent of 30 talented karate athletes competed against international opponents and showcased remarkable skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Following their successful campaign in Kolkata, the medal-winning athletes received a grand welcome upon their return to Rajendra Nagar, Patna. Officials of the All Bihar Seishinkai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Association (ABSSKA) honored the players with flower garlands and bouquets in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
The association also felicitated Chief Technical Director Renshi Gautam Kumar and Coach & General Secretary Shihan Nisha Pal for their dedication and contribution to the team’s success. Association Treasurer Sensei Vikram Pal, Sensei Aslam Ansari, parents, and other dignitaries congratulated the athletes, coaches, and officials for bringing international recognition to Bihar.
